The Palace of the lost city was where Helen and Alan got married. A venue that in itself is legendary and filled with natural beauty and African history. My first official meeting with Helen was literally a week before her wedding day, which is completely unusual for me as a makeup artist, as I usually trial brides at least a month before their wedding day. All the previous conversations were long distance phone calls and emails because Helen and Alan had decided that they were getting married in South Africa all the way from San Francisco. Helen was very relaxed and very easy to chat to and I was overly excited when this international bride sent me pictures of her exquisite wedding dress, not to mention she was absolutely gorgeous herself, which made my job that much easier. The morning of Helen and Alans wedding, the heavens opened, however this didn’t masque the fact that the day turned out to be so magnificent and all the effort that the bride and groom put into their very special day was totally worth it in the end, despite the weather.  The opulence and fine detail of this wedding is evident in the stunning pictures taken by Lightburst Photography and I absolutely loved everything about this day. It was a privilege to do Helen and her bridesmaid’s hair and makeup and they all looked absolutely breath-taking. Happiness was definitely the theme of the day. Definitely one of my top weddings of the year.
